- Team "Invincibles" consisting of S Ernest Kirubakaran and Sivaprakasam P and team "Skulls" consisting of Kaarthikeyan S and Harendhiraprasad MN won 1st and 2nd place respectively in Sparda 2009-An online business simulation game conducted by NITIE, Mumbai.
- "A Mathematical Model to Understand and Mitigate Risk in Banking" a research paper by Sivaprakasam P of Batch 25, was recommended for publishing in "Journal of 2nd Annual Banking Conference - BankOn-It 2009" conducted by NMIMS MBA-Banking.
- Sivaprakasam P and Vineet Goenka of Batch 25 stood 5th and 6th respectively in "Fund of Funds '09" contest, conducted by JBIMS, Mumbai as a part of Prayaag '09 and hosted by Benchmark AMC.
- Vimal Raj T and Raghu rajaram of BIM24 stood 4th in B-plan competition BIZCOMP’09, conducted by STEP-SJCE, Mysore. STEP- Science and Technology Entrepreneurs Park, a premier institution in the Country, established in 1988, in the campus of SJCE. A a college of excellence in engineering, with the support of Dept. of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, Industrial Development Bank of India, Dept. of Science & Technology, Govt. of Karnataka, and Dept. of Industries & Commerce, Govt. of Karnataka.The panel of judges included experts from H.S.B.C. Premier, GoFrugal Technologies, Philips Research Asia-Bangalore, Sequoia Capital India., Ernest & Young, Yahoo! India, Draper Fisher Jurvetson and VeriSign India.
- BIM Students Ramani & Arjun from PGP - II have won 1st prize in ADDICT,the Brand Promotion event in INTAGLIO, conducted by IIM-Calcutta.
- BIM Students Ernest Kirubakaran,Sivaprakasam and Nagarajan from PGP-I have won "Global Investors", a game on portfolio management conducted by TAPMI.
- BIM Student R.Nagamanikandan from PGP – I has won 2nd Prize in Business Quiz - Online @ 9 conducted by IIM-Bangalore.
- Chandra Kumar & Vimal Raj T stood third and fourth respectively in the photography contest Pixophilia conducted by SP Jain on 15th Feb 09.
- Vimal Raj.T and Raghu Rajaram of PGP II won the competition Uddyam 09 and bagged a cash prize of Rs.40000.Uddyam 09 is an Innovation Plan competition conducted by SP Jain Institute of Management, Mumbai. Five teams were short listed for the finals, which was conducted on 7th February 2009 at SP Jain Institute of Management & Research. The panellists were representatives of National Innovation Foundation (NIF) and Technical Entrepreneurship Program (TEPP) and the faculties of SPJIMR.

- Raghu Rajaram and Vimal Raj T of PGP II were short listed for the finals of EXPRESSIONS 09, the poster design competition conducted by Amity School of business on the theme of "Social Advertising".
- Vimal Raj T and Raghu Rajaram of PGP II participated in the preliminary round and were shortlisted for the finals of B-plan competition conducted by NIT , Warangal on 7th February 2009.

- BIM Students Aarthi Kalyanaraman & Sumit Dharamsi win second prize in ET Campus Quiz - Intercollegiate Business Quiz event conducted by the Economic Times & Cognizant.
- Mr. Raj Mohan of BIM has won the first prize in the Business Analyst contest ‘Digital Fortress’ conducted as a part of ABYUDHYA 2007 by IFMR Chennai.
- BIM students Abishek Luhadiya, Biswarup Das, Lokesh K, have won the 1st prize, in NIRVAAN - A National Entrepreneurship Challenge conducted as a part of MANFEST 2007 by IIM Lucknow. Their Business plan on “Employment to Blind people for Customer Care Services” has won wide accolades and has received incubation of Rs 2.5Lakhs. They have been promised further funding of Rs 40Lakhs by IIM Lucknow and Coolavenues and training from Nirma Labs if they go on with the entrepreneurship venture.
- BIM Team BANYAN, comprising Sumit Bihani and Ankur Shukla has been selected for final round of Global Social Entrepreneurship Competition (GSEC) conducted by University of Washington in Seattle, USA.
